Make a Difference

  • Laywell Beds have teamed up with Oxfam Charity Foundation to help fight against poverty. You can find details on Oxfam Charity Foundation for who you will be helping.
  • Every bed that you donate could raise vital funding towards the amazing work that the Oxfam Charity Foundation do.

Here are just some of the ways that your money can help:

1.£88 helps to fund 4 hours (£22 per hour) of vital support from a Helpline Cardiac Nurse. This can make a difference to heart patients daily lives by providing vital support to empower them to better manage their condition and treatment.

2.£500 helps to fund a defibrillator for a community first responder (CFR) scheme. This will allow volunteers to attend local emergencies and provide immediate care more quickly than an ambulance can arrive. A defibrillator can help restart the heart after someone’s had a cardiac arrest and is a vital piece of equipment for a CFR.

3.£250,000 could pay for all the costs of a heart attack research project for 3 years, including research staff and funds for the equipment and laboratory materials needed for the project. £1,000,000 could pay for a five year research project into heart attack/heart failure/diabetes including salaries, equipment and lab materials needed for the project.

Please note:

For quality and safety reasons, the British Heart Foundation can only collect beds, bed bases or mattresses that are;

  • In a useable condition e.g. not broken/damaged.
  • Mattresses must be clean and not stained and must have a valid fire safety label.

If you buy a new bed or mattresses from us we will take away you old bed and mattresses and our quality control team will access if they are in a clean useable condition if so they will be clean with anti botanical treatment products. Then will be packed up and then be delivered to Oxfam Charity Foundation warehouse.
