What is Insomnia and how fight it
Insomnia is a sleeping disorder in which you can have trouble falling and/or staying asleep. This can either be a length problem or it can be a short-term problem.
You may be wondering; how do I battle against insomnia? Well, I am going to give you ways to battle it.
Tip 1: Do not over-indulge.
Too much alcohol especially late at night can disturb your sleep schedule, yes, a lot may help you fall asleep but it will also disturb you later into the night
Tip 2: Make sure your bed is comfortable
It is hard to rest and get good sleep if your bed is uncomfortable, so it is a good idea if that is the case to invest in a new bed. (If you are looking for a new bed, check out www.laywellbeds.co.uk)
Tip 3: Do not smoke
People who smoke find it harder to fall asleep to someone who does not smoke; they are often having more disturbed sleep and wake up a lot more.
Tip 4: Cut down on caffeine
If you are looking to battle insomnia and get better night’s sleep then I definitely suggest cutting down on caffeine in the evening that can be from energy drinks, coffee, tea and anything else. Caffeine interferes with the process of falling asleep and it is a deep sleep preventer too. So your best bet is a hot chocolate or an herbal tea as a substitute.
Tip 5: If you cannot sleep, get up
If you are struggling to sleep, there is no point laying there worrying about why you can’t, it is a good idea to get out of bed and do something you find helps you relax until you feel sleep and then try getting into bed and sleep again
