How to Stick to a Sleep Schedule

Is your sleep schedule effecting your day? Well in this article I will be telling you how to stick to a sleep schedule which will allow you to focus more on your day-to-day activities.

First step is making the schedule; the sleep schedule should be between 7 and 9 hours. Keep the schedule consistent because the benefits do not just come overnight.

Finding the right schedule is the easiest part, when it comes to sticking to the sleep schedule is when it can become a problem. When you put a sleeping schedule in place you need to make sure you have done what you need to do in the evening to allow you to sleep at the time you are wanting to. If your chosen time to sleep is 10:30pm you need to make sure you are in bed with your eyes closed at exactly that time.

It will take time for your body to adjust to the schedule so give it time, you may be tired for the first few days, but it will adjust quickly, the key is to be patient. The trick is to keep your smartphones, tablets and any other electronic devices you own out of the bedroom at night. These devices interfere with your circadian rhythm by emitting blue lights. This makes it harder for your body to adjust to your sleeping schedule. Phones have features on them now called light mode, if you need to use a phone before bed make sure you use this feature because it reduces the brightness of your screen and should not affect your sleep schedule.

It is now time for you to put these steps into practice!

Good luck!
